The Tri-State Genealogical Society has compiled an index of obituaries that have appeared in the 3 long-time newspapers in Butte County: the Belle Fourche Post and Bee (western part of the county), and the Valley Irrigator (eastern part of the county)! These obits are available at the Belle Fourche Public Library. For lookups in the index and for additional information, please contact Mary Buchholz or Pat Engebretson. This is a valuable addition to our Butte County resources. Thanks, Tri-State Genealogical Society!

The Butte County Historical Society is on-line! Please visit their web site, and learn all about the historical preservation projects they are pursuing, their upcoming caravan tours, and their calendar - among other interesting tidbits!

The Tri-State Genealogical Society has moved their web page to the Rootsweb servers. Please check out their web site! In addition to their compilation of over 5,000 Pineslope Cemetery records, they have also added an index to the 1989 History of Butte County. Thanks for all of your hard work, TSGS! We appreciate you!

There are several old postcards featuring various Butte County scenes and landmarks now available in the SDGenWeb Archives. To view these postcards, Click Here. Perhaps you have some old postcards in your own collection? Instructions for contributing pictures of your postcards are available on that web site.
